What is it?

Like the front page says, this website is a free resource for mountain bikers to share and discover routes! Currently the focus is on off-road mountain biking.

Free?

Yes free! I am a great believer in sharing knowledge. Everyone can contribute as much or as little as they wish, even edit other people's additions if they feel the need. If you have ever used a Wiki you will understand the principles. In fact, future versions of the website will probably include more Wiki features.

Why does it exist? There are loads of trail guides out there!

The trails near me are great, but sometimes it's good to get a weekend away to taste some fresh ground! I found nothing online to help me, and came up with this idea. Yes, there are loads of other trail guides, but they are either poorly maintained or very specific. This website can bring together all those routes into one single place.

Why should I share my trails?

Nothing says you have to share your secret trails! But in the spirit of collaboration, why not add the more well known trails from your area? The main reason this website was founded was because I found it tough trawling all those local websites looking for new trails.

It's rubbish! There aren't any trails!

Well observed! That's because the website is very new. I'm making it my task over the coming weeks to scour the web searching for UK trails to add, hopefully this will add enough value to the site that people begin to add their own trails.

Who are you?

My name is Adam and I'm a student. In my spare time I ride a Marin Alpine Trail in and around Bristol.

I agree, they suck, but unfortunately web hosting doesn't come free! This site is not-for-profit and is fully supported by advertising revenue. Every effort has been made to ensure that the ads are discreet and relevant.

Who made the website? / How does it work?

I wrote the whole website on Ubuntu Linux using gedit. All the technologies used are freely available and Open source. Currently this includes PHP 4, JavaScript and MySQL.
